Vario downdraft ventilation 400 series by Gaggenau

Dezeen Showroom: promising quiet and effective removal of cooking smells, Gaggenau's Vario downdraft ventilation sits flush with the cooktop.

Designed to be used alongside any of the Vario 400 series of cooktops, the Vario downdraft ventilation removes odours and vapour on either manual or automatic settings.

"Its 15.5-centimetre-wide aperture, range of powerful fan units and inner housing ensure high airflow even at the lowest setting and minimal noise even at its highest," said Gaggenau.

The automatic setting uses an air quality sensor to detect when to adjust the power levels, and will always default to the lowest power level necessary to clear the air of odours and vapours, meaning users can take their mind off that concern when cooking.

The Vario downdraft ventilation is also designed for easy cleaning, with ergonomic handles to enable the removal of the grease filter, which can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

The ventilation can be fitted with minimal planning and comes with a solid stainless steel control knob to match the cooktop design.
